Golf Course Superintendent, Swaneset Bay Resort & Country Club
The Facility:
Swaneset Bay Resort and Country Club, nestled in the serene and picturesque Pitt River Valley, is actively seeking a highly qualified Superintendent to join the West Coast Golf Group Team. Collaborate with Superintendents from our other sites (Hazelmere and Belmont) and become an integral part of a dynamic team at a premium 36-hole golf facility.
The Position:
The Swaneset Bay Resort Golf Course Superintendent will:
- Plan, schedule, and oversee a crew of 30+ maintenance staff in all aspects of golf course maintenance.
- Provide leadership, coaching, training, and necessary disciplinary actions for all staff.
- Monitor attendance and payroll for the turf department.
- Collaborate with other managers to ensure timely completion of golf course projects and operations to high standards.
- Schedule, plan, and monitor all aspects of the fertility and Integrated Pest Management program.
- Maintain all office records, including purchase orders, pesticide records and licensing, training records, and other required documentation.
- Manage the RainBird irrigation system to ensure efficient operation.
- Supervise Horticultural operations, including fertilizing and planting of trees, shrubs, flowers, and other landscape features.
- Ensure staff adheres to Occupational Health and Safety standards, fostering a work environment that promotes health and safety.
- Assist other departments within the organization, including clubhouse repairs and maintenance as required.
- Perform other related work as necessary.
Education Requirements:
- Degree or diploma in Turfgrass Management or Agronomy from a recognized post-secondary institution.
- Minimum 5 years of supervisory experience in Turfgrass Management.
- Experience in Budgeting, Project planning, and golf course construction.
- Current Pest Management certification.
Qualifications:
- Knowledge and understanding of golf course maintenance procedures with excellent customer service skills.
- Strong understanding of the game of golf, including all rules and etiquette.
- Computer skills, including Outlook, Excel, Word, Google Docs, and 7 shifts employee software.
- Ability to work under pressure in dynamic situations with a high level of professionalism.
- Experience in budgeting and financial management.
- Reliable with a strong work ethic and adaptability, possessing excellent communication skills.
- Valid class 5 driver’s license.

Compensation:
- Salary range of $90,000 – $110,000 annually based on experience and education.
- Full-time 12-month position including medical, dental, professional development dues, daily meals, golf privileges, and merchandise discount.
