Fundraising Update – NGCOA Canada Foundation

The NGCOA Canada Foundation will provide support to NGCOA Canada members and their extended community. Work on the Foundation is making progress and will be shared at the upcoming NGCOA Canada Conference.

Foundation Update

The Planning Phase:

The NGCOA Canada Foundation is now a registered entity with the government of Canada. The Foundation is still awaiting charity status but we have begun planning for the future.

  • Seven members of a Board of Directors (including myself) have now been meeting monthly. The board will expand over time up to a maximum of 11 members.
  • A terms of reference, application criteria and vision/mission document have been submitted to CRA for approval.
  • Fundraising (mainly in the province of BC) is ongoing.
  • The NGCOA Canada Foundation will make its official debut to the NCGOA Canada membership at the NGCOA Golf Business Canada Conference, November 19-21 in Calgary, AB.

Fundraising:

  • The auction for a 2002 Holiday edition Scotty Cameron putter, that was given to Jeff, raised $1,245 for the fund.
  • The annual NGCOA BC Chapter Golf Tournament held at Northview Golf Club raised $5,500+.
  • Stay tuned for an online store coming soon with merchandise that will include a new NGCOA Canada Foundation logo and a Live Your Best Life script.

Foundation Goals:

The NGCOA Canada Foundation will provide financial support to NGCOA Canada members and their extended community within the Canadian golf industry. The current fundraising efforts have been directed to benefit the Jeff Ciecko Benevolent Fund. As the Foundation grows there will be at least three pillars of focus:

Support – The Jeff Ciecko Benevolent Fund offers temporary financial assistance to employees of NGCOA Canada member facilities and their families who face unexpected hardships.

Sustain – The Research Support Fund provides financial assistance to initiatives that enhance sustainability of the golf industry.

Thrive – The Live Your Best Life Fund provides financial assistance to individuals seeking higher education to support their long-term career aspirations within the golf industry.

Additional pillars may be added over time.

I look forward to the public launch of the Foundation in November. If anyone has any questions, feedback or suggestions please contact me at anytime!
