Rustico Wines
We’ve blogged about Rustico Farm & Cellars a couple of times before and you can read about our visit to the winery and our previous tasting of the 2008 Rustico Doc’s Buggy Pinot Noir. Rustico is a British Columbia winery located on the Golden Mile Bench near Oliver, B.C.

Rustico Wine

Rustico Pinot Gris
On a warm summer day (first real one of the year) we opened the 2012 Rustico Pinot Gris also referred to as Isabella’s Poke. As the story goes… “Isabella liked nothing better than to share the poke of a miner from Veneto. She was, after all saving her gold to plant a small vineyard”.

“Isabella’s Poke” we liked right from opening the bottle with the aromas of light fruit, not the usual berries but something a little different. The taste was smooth and the wine was easy to drink. There was a hint of peach flavour in the finish. Served cold this was an excellent summer patio wine. At $17.95 it is a wine we will definitely be ordering again or dropping in to say hi to Bruce and picking up a few more bottles.
