Mt. Boucherie Winery
Mt. Boucherie Family Estate Winery is located in West Kelowna. Mt. Boucherie’s wines are made from 100% family-grown grapes, cultivated in Kal and Nirmal Gidda’s soil. The winery has been family-owned and operated since 1968, independent of any other wineries in the area. All of their wines bear the BC VQA seal. The winery celebrated their 10th anniversary in 2011.
Mt. Boucherie Melange Noir
Although we have tried a number of Mt. Boucherie wines including the 2005 Mt. Boucherie Summit Reserve Cabernet Franc and the 2009 Summit Reserve Pinot Noir this was first time tasting the Melange Noir. The wine is comprised of Marechal Foch, Merlot, Gamay Noir and a Russian varietal called Michurinetz. It is very dark in colour and smelled of dark fruits and chocolate. The taste was very smooth much like a Cabernet Sauvignon without much of an after taste, we really enjoyed it. At $21.99 this was a great wine we will surely have again. We are thinking about ordering a case.
