Mt. Boucherie Winery
This winery must be a favourite of ours because I’m sure by now we must have tasted all of the varietals of wine they make. There is a summary blog from our last Mt. Boucherie tasting which you can read here. I was surprised that we had not tasted the Gamay Noir until last week. Mt. Boucherie is one of our all time favourite wineries and we stop in whenever we are near Kelowna.
Mt. Boucherie 2010 Gamay Noir
The 2010 Gamay Noir is from Mt. Boucherie’s Estate Collection which means that 100% of the grapes are grown on the wineries lands. A little over 2,000 cases are produced and the grapes come from their wineries in the Similkameen Vineyard in Cawston. It is a very light red in color with smells of strawberries. The taste is clean and refreshing, a great sipping wine that should be served slightly chilled in our opinion. At $15.50 we think this wine represents excellent value and would reccomend you give it a try!
