Church & State Winery
Church & State is one of our favourite wineries in the Okanagan, with arguably the best tasting room. We’ve been there a couple of times and always seem to purchase more bottles then we plan too! We’ve previously blogged about Church & State Quintessential, which you can read here. If you are near Oliver, BC make sure to take the time to drop in on the winery for a tasting of their wines, we think you will find it well worth it.

Church & State Meritage
We purchased this wine during this summer’s trip to the Okanagan specifically to do some wine tasting. The Meritage we tasted (and purchased) was the 2009. This wine has won a number of medals including a Silver at the 2012 International Wine & Spirit Competition UK. It is a dark burgundy colour but is light and fruity in the smell. However the taste has much darker fruits, predominately cherry. At $27.00 per bottle this is an excellent “first” bottle to be enjoyed at home and I’m sure we will purchase another on our next trip to the Okanagan.
