9ine Acres Winery
We’re not sure where we got this bottle from but we’re sure we haven’t been to the winery. A short Google search didn’t turn up very much information either. I think it might have been a speaker gift from a talk I gave recently. Either way our thoughts on this tasting are below…

9ine Acres Merlot
This week, after a quick look in the wine storage unit and Tara not really wanting wine I decided to go with something a little heavier. Like a blind man I reached in and grabbed the 9ine Acres Merlot and thought what the hell, I’ll give this a try.Screenshot 2016-06-13 13.13.09

2013 9ine Acres Merlot
For a Merlot I thought it was pretty easy drinking, not heavy or a lot of lingering aftertaste that I might expect. 9ine Acres is an Okanagan wine made 100% of Merlot grapes and is part of the BC VQA family. I thought cherries and strawberries were the dominant fruits of this wine. There is also a mild smokey finish but is doesn’t linger around long after a sip. At $13.49 (found it in an on-line store that delivers in Vancouver or ships directly) this is worth the purchase and a taste!
