With the year’s final major set to tee off on Thursday morning at Ocean Course at Kiawah Island in South Carolina we posted a questions on Facebook asking which of the top 10 players in the world would win the PGA Championship. There are some interesting things to know about the Ocean Course at Kiawah Island…not only is it hosting this year’s 94th PGA Championship, but it has played host to a number of large tournaments since opening in 1991. This includes the 2007 Senior PGA Championship won by Denis Watson, the 2005 PGA Professional National Championship won by Mike Small, the 2003 World Cup which the South African duo of Trevor Immelman and Rory Sabbatini won, the 1997 World Cup of Golf in which Ireland’s Padraig Harrington and Paul McGinley won the team title and Scotland’s Colin Montgomerie took the individual honors and the 1991 Ryder Cup which Team USA won 14.5 to 13.5.
