BC Craft Beer keeps getting better
For 5 years BC has been celebrating it’s bounty of craft beer led by the BC Craft Brewers Guild. In our opinion the selection and quality of craft beers in BC keeps getting better. This year’s BC Craft Beer month starts today, October 1st, and we will be participating at home by blogging about the beers we taste, by visiting some local Vancouver breweries and also by attending one or more of the scheduled events.

Downtown Vancouver Craft Beer Tour
By walking no more than 10 blocks along Main Street you can visit at least 6 tasting rooms (some with food and some without). We suggest a Saturday afternoon outing starting with Brunch at 33 Acres Brewing Company on West 8th a block and a half off Main St. Brunch is served at 33 Acres on weekends from 11:30 to 2:30. The menu is basic but the food is good, and so is the beer. This is one of our downtown favorites. With cafeteria style ordering for food and beer it is easy and efficient.
33 Acres Beers
33 Acres of Ocean – Jeff’s favorite. Ocean is light amber in color and full flavored. It is like an IPA with a strong hop flavor and 5.3% alcohol.
33 Acres of Sunshine – Tara’s favorite. Sunshine is an un-flitered wheat ale that is a hazy blonde in color. It has 5% alcohol and and a hint of fruity orange flavor.
33 Acres of Kobes – Honorable mention. Kobes is ‘wheaty’ and slightly bitter but a bit fruity as well. It is 33 Acres take on Kolsch with 5% alcohol.

After 33 Acres you can choose from Brassneck Brewery, R & B Brewing Company, Main Street Brewing Company, Red Truck Beer Company and Steel Toad Brewery or you can visit them all. We will be writing more about the others here.

We, Jeff & Tara Ciecko of CK Golf write two blogs, one is our 19th Hole Blog where we share personal experiences and the other a Biz Blog where we comment on general business and internet marketing best practices, golf course marketing and give golf industry related opinions. Our 19th Hole Blog is about the places we visit and the things we do. When we say that we like or dislike something or have a good or bad experience this is our opinion and the truth as we see it. We are affiliates of a select few products that we use and love. If you have any questions or comments feel free to contact us anytime.
