Craft Beer in the Lone Star State
We never really thought of Texas as much of a Craft Beer State, but on our recent travels to Houston, Austin and San Antonio we discovered some really great Craft beers. According to the Brewer’s Association of Texas, Craft Beer now accounts for 7.8% of Texas beer sales up from 6.5% in 2012 (take that Bud Light). Craft Beer also has a $4.54 Billon dollar economic impact in the State and almost 1.2 Billion barrels of Craft Beer is produced annually.

Saint Arnold Brewing
I (Jeff) try for the most part to drink local brews from the City we are in. This was no different when we visited Houston, TX for a few days in January. With no brews on tap (my preference) I opted for the Houston local Saint Arnold’s Amber Ale brewed right in the City.

Saint Arnold Amber Ale
The Saint Arnold Amber Ale is a darker Amber Ale with flavours like chocolate but it is light on the hoppy flavour. It is a rich beer, a bit Stout-like in it’s taste. Over all it was a good choice and one that I would have again. If you are in Houston, give it a try!
