Canadian Stephen Ames Breaks the Shutout on the PGA Tour
It took until the final day of the final round of the final Official PGA Tour event of the 2009 season for Canadian Stephen Ames to break a two year winless drought on the PGA Tour for Canada. Ames did it in dramatic fashion, closing with a 8 under par 64 to finish the tournament. He tied Justin Leonard and George McNeill at 18 under par for the tournament.

Ames won on the second playoff hole after Leonard bowed out with a bogey at the first extra hole and McNeill scored a bogey on the second extra hole. Ames needed the victory for not only his second win since 2007, but also to break the $2 Million dollar season earning total, something he had done every year since 2005. Mike Weir was held winless again in 2009 and last won in 2007.
