Panorama Mountain Resort (and Grey Wolf Golf Course) are a ways off the beaten path, but after visiting every year for the last 6 years we know it will be worth the trip. Invermere, BC is just over an hour south of the Trans Canada Highway when you turn off at Golden, BC. You can also approach from the South through Osoyoos and Cranbrook but from Vancouver Highway 1 is faster (9 hours plus an hour lost to time change). From Calgary it is a quick 3 hours. Once into the Columbia Valley the time slows down (think Island time). This is why it is good for us to spend a week here each year, to chill out. Panorama is a 20 minute drive up the mountain from Invermere.

Greywolf Golf Course
We have stayed in Panorama several times, but since the opening of the Copper Point Resort in Invermere we now choose to stay there instead. Copper Point Resort is the largest, most modern resort in the area with a great pool deck, two large hot tubs and cabana bar in summer. The restaurant is average but stay in a suite and you will have a full kitchen and your own BBQ on your own deck. Way more relaxing! But we do still drive up to Panorama for a day trip to mountain bike and/or enjoy brunch at Greywolf Golf Course. No, we have not played golf at Greywolf yet, but we always hear good things.

Cliffhanger Restaurant
As of May 6th the restaurant at Greywolf (called Cliff hanger) is now open daily 8am to 9pm until the end of the golf season. We went for breakfast. The service and the food were both good but it is the buildings interior and outside deck that are really worth a mention. The high ceiling and tons of glass make you feel like you are outside even if you are not. So even on a rainy day the views will be good. From the large patio there are views of the golf course in both directions and the mountains straight ahead. The view is worth the visit alone. This patio will be packed all summer long!

We will be heading back in early September for another visit.

We, Jeff & Tara Ciecko of CK Golf write two blogs, one is our 19th Hole Blog where we share personal experiences and the other an Industry Blog where we comment on general business and internet marketing best practices, sales strategies and give golf industry related opinions. We have owned CK Golf  for 9 years and provide marketing, social media and business services to the golf and other industries. Our 19th Hole Blog is about the places we visit and the things we do. When we say that we like or dislike something or have a good or bad experience this is our opinion and the truth as we see it, not something we have been paid for.
