Congratulations to Linda Hipp for once again being recognized in the annual PROFIT W100 ranking of Canada’s Top Women Entrepreneurs. This is the fourth year in a row that she has been named to the list for her successes as the founder and principal designer of Lija which is bringing over 200 pieces of golf and sportswear to the market for Spring 2009.

We had the pleasure of meeting Linda ten years ago when she first entered the golf clothing business with the launch of her line Hyp Golf and she was on the road to promote and show the line throughout BC. Salmon Arm Golf Club was one of the first courses in BC to carry Hyp Golf. At the time the clothes were stylish and ‘hip’ in a world were golf clothes were still meant for the golf course. Her focus was fashionable apparel alternatives for golfing women that go be taken beyond the golf course borders. We knew that Linda and her line would be successful and boy did I love that golf dress! Fast forward ten years and Hyp Golf (that was re-branded as Lija in 2004) has become a world-wide hit.

The designs were embraced by both golfers and non-golfers alike and the line has now been expanded to include tennis and other sportswear apparel. Started in Vancouver, where Linda was born and raised, it is great to see a BC company have such great successes in Canada and beyond. We look forward to seeing what fashion forward designs Lija will embrace next to stay ahead of the curve.
