A Tribute to the Founders of BC Golf House
On Monday Tara and I had the honor of attending a tribute luncheon for the founders of BC Golf House, where British Columbia’s golf history is maintained. It was held at University Golf Club where the BC Golf Museum is located just off the 17th tee.
The Old Clubhouse
The old UGC Clubhouse (serving as BC Golf House) was constructed in 1930 when the golf course was built and called the Westward Ho! Golf Course. The 3,000 square foot building became BC Golf House in 1986 when University Golf Club was doing course renovations and constructing a new Clubhouse.
BC Golf House
BC Golf House plays an important role maintaining a reference libary with information on every golf course that has ever existed in British Columbia, along over 1,500 player biographies and tournament records from events with a history greater than 25 years.
Thank You!
To Harry and Dick White and Michael Riste for the vision, hard work and passion to bring BC Golf House to its 21st year in 2010. You are deserving of the day in your honor!
