Living in Hotels
This is a follow up to our blog about living in hotels. Since we stay in so many hotels we thought we would start sharing some of the best ones here on the blog for those of you looking for places to stay. In the last year we have been in some great hotels and some not so great hotels and right now we have a new favourite. We say new favourite because there are so many hotels out there, our favorites change but if you ever find yourself needing a hotel at Edmonton airport or in the south part of Edmonton you should stay here.

Easy access
If you are traveling out of Edmonton airport early or arriving late this is a great stop over hotel. It is literally steps to both arrivals and departures being that the Edmonton airport is fairly small. You can be in the lounge within 10 minutes of your plane arriving at the gate (without checked luggage of course). The airport itself also has some surprisingly good food options after security if you stay the night and are flying the next day.

Modern but Comfortable
The design of the hotel is very modern, from the lit walkway to the mostly white interior, funky furniture, minimalist check in desks and 5pm hype sessions the hotel strives to be hip and unconventional as the Renaissance brand is known for. But what we like about this particular hotel is also how comfortable it is. The staff are genuinely friendly, warm and engaging (especially at the Halo Bar) and the lounge and library are comfortable and welcoming to sit in despite the modern furnishings. We stayed at another Renaissance hotel last year that was also very well designed but missed on the welcoming and comfortable points so the experience was no where near the same.

Services
This hotel also makes things easy for us. There is parking on site (for a fee but with easy access and no valet) which is uncommon at an airport hotel. There is also a Starbucks (full size) attached to the lobby. There is a full restaurant, a large lounge, big bar, library, business services (using Mac computers) and an M Lounge with great staff (Thanks Mike). While we still prefer to sit in the fully public areas of the hotel for the atmosphere the M Lounges (which we now get access to) have the perks of free breakfast, appy hour, all day coffee, tea and water and a quiet place to work if needed. This hotel has it all.

Our Honest Feedback
As most of you know we share our feedback on on social sites all the time. From rants about Air Canada to posts about things we think are just great. This hotel has made our feeds more than once so we hope you like it as much as we do. If you want to see more pics of this hotel you can check out our posts on Facebook or Instagram.

Stay tuned for more of our favourite hotels or more rants as we start our US Road Trip Round 2 on November 6th.
