BBQ at Home
Since we decided to eat at home and BBQ this weekend we decided a nice bottle of wine was in order. Normally our BBQ’s include some type of white fish for Tara and a steak for Jeff but after checking out the surprisingly good fish counter at Safeway we both decided on a crusted cod with chives and cheddar. Add to that some corn and baby potatoes (and a trick we learned in Mexico to slice the potatoes and cover each half with olive oil and sea salt) and all that was left was the wine.
Prospect Winery
Prospect Winery or The Ganton and Larsen Prospect Winery, in the Okanagan Valley, pay homage to the Ganton and Larsen families. The families have been long standing owners and partners of the land that produces the wines. In many cases the grapes are sourced from the finest vineyards in the Okanagan Valley.
Pinot Noir 2008
The 2008 ‘Fats Johnson’ Pinot Noir is fairly bright and transparent in color with a medium fruit flavour. There is a little bit of heat or spice in the finish, but overall this wine would make a great compliment with a variety of meal selections. The wine is named after ‘Fats Johnson’ who was a neighbour of Ganton and Larson.
On the list to purchase again!
