Follow-up to Dining at Prestons
A few weeks ago we posted a blog about three visits to Preston’s, a fairly new restaurant in the Coast Coal Harbour Hotel.  Since then we have made a few more visits ourselves and have invited guests to join us. We are happy to report that the food has been very good on all occasions as you will see and we love the value. The service has still been a bit off at times but we are keeping our fingers crossed. They had introduced a loyalty program using a QR code system but it has not worked on our last two visits.

And since we have tried a few more items here they are.

Standard breakfast (2 eggs, bacon or sausage, hashbrowns and fruit)  – $10- higher than some in the WestEnd but better cooked eggs

Pastrami Sandwich (sauerkraut, mustard sauce, lots of pastrami) – $13 with fries, salad or soup – large portion, good value

Crispy Halibut Sandwich – $13 with fries, salad or soup – tarragon tarter very good, breading not too heavy

Eggplant Parmesan Sandwich – $13 with fries, salad or soup – Tara’s favorite, but too much bun (could be open-faced)

Wild Mushroom Ravioli – $15 – Caper berries a nice touch, very tasty but could be a larger portion (at a higher price) if you are hungry

Great Menu and Value
We like the menu for its standard pricing which includes two columns of Mixers (starters) at $8 and $12, mid’s at $13 and bowls at $15. We have tried the featured soup (Pumpkin and Apple most recently) and the fries (nice cut) but not the salad as an accompaniment. The evening menu includes mains at the $21 and $26 price points. Stay tuned and we will keep you updated as we try more items.
