The Howe Sound Brewery is located about 45 minutes North of downtown Vancouver in Squamish, BC. It has been in business since 1996 and is home to one of the last few remaining hop farms in BC. Sadly we have not had a chance to visit it (they do offer free tours of the brewery), which is sad considering the amount of times we have done the trip between Whistler and Vancouver over the years! Luckily our favourite pub, Tap & Barrel, regularly has one or two of their brews on tap.

Howe Sound Devil’s Elbow IPA
The Devil’s Elbow IPA is also available in select BC liquor stores in the 1L recappable bottle. This is where we first purchased and tasted this one. The IPA is hoppy as English IPA’s are but is a little lighter in colour than you might expect. With 6% alcohol it is a pretty light and easy drinking brew in our opinion. At about $6.50 for a 1L it is definitely worth giving this craft beer a try in our opinion.
