Copper Point Resort
After our stay at Panorama (see previous blog) we headed down the mountain for a visit to the new Copper Point Resort in Invermere, B.C.. We were very impressed! The Resort opened on May long weekend but just had its official grand opening this week. The resort features terrific views of the mountains and of The Ridge at Copper Point golf course as well as fabulously appointed rooms that are available for full or fractional ownership or for daily rentals. After having spent the first five days of our trip checking out Panorama, Invermere, Radium and Fairmont we can safely say that there is nothing like this property in the valley. The room configurations that are available range from a studio lock off to a full 3 bedroom plus loft suite. This gives the resort the opportunity to cater to a diverse group of travelers – family vacations, golf trips or us who just want a getaway with a great room, lots of amenities and good food. We had a tour of the three bedroom plus loft unit (The Garnet) which was amazing. All three bedrooms and the loft each have their own private bathroom! The master suite has a fireplace and even a TV built into the bathroom mirror. The full kitchen can easily be described as gourmet and we loved the bar counter with four bar stools. Each room also has its own private balcony. All units except the studio lock offs have a washer and dryer which is also a nice touch. The studios do include a wet bar, fridge and microwave. The details in the finishings are noticeable throughout making a very good first impression. We did not stay at the resort on this visit but plan to go back. For the two of us we would choose the one bedroom option at 750 sq feet with a full kitchen and large balcony; slightly bigger than our Vancouver apartment.
Amenities at the Copper Point Resort
Now if the rooms are not enough to get you to stay the pool area and deck, the restaurant and the views will be. There is both an outdoor and an indoor pool and hot tubs. The pool deck is large and has great views of the first hole of The Ridge golf course and the mountains. The patio furniture both by the pool and in the rooms is ample and comfortable (we tried them out). The gym also has great views but hopefully the weather is good enough to exercise outside instead. We also had a bite to eat and a cool beverage on the patio of Elements Grill & Lounge. The food and the service were both good and the outdoor space is great. It is somewhere (besides a golf course patio) that we would go on any afternoon. A spa is in the works to round out the amenities.
There is also no other conference space like this available in the Columbia Valley. The main Grand Hall can seat up to 200 and hold 300 for a reception, but can also be divided into three smaller rooms. The Amber room can seat up to 180. Our favorite room was the Jade Boardroom. It has a boardroom table for 12, a seating area with flat screen TV, a full kitchen, a BBQ on the patio and a pool table. It would be a great room to host a company retreat or a family get-together.
Stay and Play
Packages are also available for Copper Point Golf Course and The Ridge at Copper Point with accommodation at Copper Point Resort. The two properties are not jointly owned but are working together to provide a great golf and travel experience. View the full photo set of Copper Point Golf Club.
As you can tell we were obviously very impressed with the resort. We were not asked to write this blog but took so many photos on our tour that we wanted to share them and our thoughts on the facility. We are trying to make time for a trip back to the region in late September, early October and hopefully can update this blog with further experiences. Not that we need anymore timeshare in addition to Club Intrawest but the thought did cross our minds.
