Capilano Golf & Country Club
Thursday night we are joining other members of the golf industry at Capilano Golf & Country Club for the 2011Golf Hall of Fame of BC Induction Dinner. Many of you probably know very little about the Golf Hall of Fame of BC or the BC Golf House. So we are here to bring you up to speed…
BC Golf House
The British Columbia Golf House is a registered non-profit, created in 1987 with the express purpose of preserving, recording and displaying the history of golf and the golfers of the province. It is located in the original clubhouse of the University Golf Club which now sits on the 17th tee. On display is an extensive collection of clubs (dating back to 1790), bags and golf balls as well as a library of over 5000 volumes. The BC Golf House is the only independent golf museum and library in any province or state in North America.
In 2001 the Golf Hall of Fame of BC was created to honour golfers, whose competitive achievements brought honour and recognition to themselves and to British Columbia. Every odd numbered year there is a Hall of Fame Induction and to date there are 25 Honoured Members of the Hall of Fame. View the list of Honoured Members.
2011 Inductees
The list of inductees to be honoured on Thursday night is a good one! It includes Dawn Coe-Jones, Jim Rutledge, Cec Ferguson, Bob Kidd and Walter McElroy. We look forward to great video presentations about each player and terrific speaches from themselves or their families. This is a great event recognizing golfers who are 50 years of age and who have brought honour to themselves and the province through their competitive accomplishments.
A few tickets are still available.

We are also looking forward to the dinner provided by Capilano Golf & Country Club. It may be blog worthy so check back.
