Internet Marketing
Off-season marketing work for your golf course is just as important as what you do in the spring and summer to attract golfers to your course. It actually may be even more important to get a jump start on the new season. So what should you be doing from now until March?…
If you need a full website make-over now is the time. Your golf course’s website is often the first impression that a potential customer gets and it is a place that regular customers visit often especially if you provide online booking from your website, write a regular blog or post rate and information updates. We hope that you do all three, all the time.
Your Website
It used to be that the only way to create and update a website was to have a professional HTML programmer do it for you. This was often costly and time consuming.
Websites may still be built on an HTML platform but the advances in Content Management Systems (CMS) now allow your staff to make updates themselves without paying a third party. There are also now many free, open source software programs available with built-in, easy to use CMS that can allow any business to create and edit their own websites. These include WordPress, Wix, Drupal and Hubspot to name a few. Using a combination of skilled programmer labour and your own staff labour is a cost effective way to create a visually appealing website and have it updated on a regular basis.
All Roads Lead Home
Think of your website as your home base. All of the social media platforms that you use and other websites that you partner with will all lead to this home base, so it better look good and be up to date. Your website must include all of the information that your customers will want to know and do not want to pick up the phone to ask. It must also include the details of anything that you intend to promote using the other platforms that you will develop. Your website must also tell your story in an engaging way.
What does your website say about your organization?
Now is the time to really take a look at it, go through every page. Have your staff and even members take a look and provide you with feedback. Reassess the platform that you use and how you update your site. Make sure that it tells your story and provides the information that you guests and potential guests need.
