Increasing Productivity
We have always found that working from home (or in a coffee shop) is much more productive than being in an office. We were extremely busy getting client messages out in March and April but now that golf has resumed across the country our daily demands are back to normal. We are very much looking forward to another long road trip when this is all over. In the mean time we have been working on being even more productive by using some new business tools and also learning how to better use the tools that we already have.

In Part I we talked about our use of Zoom and Canva.

Trello
Trello is a collaboration tool that allows us to keep track of projects and clients on ‘boards’. We share our Trello account with our Associates to assign tasks and provide details, links, attachments etc. all in one place that can be accessed by us all. Trello uses boards, cards and lists to organize projects (or clients), assign team members and set deadlines. CK Golf uses the free version of Trello which allows up to 10 boards with unlimited cards and lists as well as 10MB/file uploads. This has been sufficient for us. If we need to share a file larger than 10MB we use a shared Google Drive. There is a paid version of Trello which allows 250MB files to be attached. The paid version is $120 US annually or $12.50/month.

Google Drive
Just a quick mention that if you do not have a Google Drive set up for your team to share large files and documents that they are all providing input to, you should. We get all of our clients who do not have a paid CRM tool to use Google Drive. Each Manager has access to the same Excel file to upload new contacts, leads and customer details. CK Golf also has access to the same Drive to cross-reference the contacts and to import them into the club’s email platform. This is a very easy (and free) way to create and club CRM. Get on it!

Vimeo
While we use Zoom to record our Golf Industry Conversations we host the videos themselves on Vimeo.  We have had a paid Vimeo account for two years. Video is such a strong marketing tool. We know that we do not use video enough but are planing to do so for ourselves and our clients. For a business that is creating video as a marketing tool and not using it as a means to be found on YouTube (which is a huge search engine) we like Vimeo simply for its lack of advertising (with the paid version), easy embedding and professional, business look. A paid Vimeo subscription is $108 CND per year (or $13/month).

Another tool that we have been learning a lot more about is MailChimp. There is too much to discuss here so stay tuned. As mentioned in Part I, we are not paid by any of these companies. We are sharing our thoughts to try to help everyone increase productivity.

What tools are you using to be more productive? Let us know.

We, Jeff and Tara Ciecko of CK Golf write two blogs, one is our 19th Hole Blog where we share personal experiences and the other an Industry Blog where we comment on general business and internet marketing best practices, sales strategies and give golf industry related opinions. We have recently started a Zoom call video series of Golf Industry Conversations. We have owned CK Golf  for 12 years and provide business services to the golf and other industries. As of July 31, 2016 our life and our business became ‘location independent’. Our 19th Hole Blog is about the places we visit and the things we do. If you have any questions or comments, or happen to be in the same location as us please reach out and contact us anytime.
