What is it? There have been many, many articles, blogs and stories written about this but we believe it comes down to two things.
- It is a communication tool that allows news to travel fast, speed of light fast.
- It is a marketing tool that can assist in promoting, engaging and sharing your message.
The most fundamental mistake we see businesses, in particular golf courses, making is that they forget the most basic aspect of social media. That is to be social, interact and engage with your fans and followers. Most businesses are only using the ‘push’ aspect of social. There often is not a lot, if any, effort placed on interacting and engaging the followers. Is social media converting to more business for you? If it isn’t you may want to revisit your strategy.
Grow You Social Media Followers
The easiest way to do this is the following:
- Share… other people’s content.
And do the above at least 5 times for ever piece of content you are ‘pushing’ out. Almost every business is ‘doing’ social media but are they doing it well? Take a step back from posting (pushing) and analyze the interaction and engagement you are having with your customers. That is where social media will convert into stronger revenues for your business.
