Cowboy Rules
We were recently at the National Golf Course Owners Golf Business Canada Conference in Calgary, Alberta. Of course with Calgary being a bit of a Cowboy town that played into the theme of the Conference. At both the opening and closing ceremonies Conference Chair, Reto Steiner (owner of Woodside Golf Course in Airdrie, Alberta) recited the Cowboy rules! The Cowboy rules are essentially a list of core values to follow in business and in life. They are as follows:
- Live each day with courage
- Take pride in your work
- Always finish what you start
- Do what has to be done
- Be tough but fair
- When you make a promise, keep it
- Ride for your brand
- Talk less and say more
- Remember that some things aren’t for sale
- Know where to draw the line
This got us thinking about our core values and the way we run our business and how we help other golf course owners and operators. We thought it was a good time to share the CK Golf core business values again and what each mean to us. They are:
- Trust
- Consistency
- Adaptability
- Business First
You can read a detailed explanation of how we use each in our everyday business life here!
We, Jeff and Tara Ciecko of CK Golf write two blogs, one is our 19th Hole Blog where we share personal experiences and the other an Industry Blog where we comment on general business and internet marketing best practices, sales strategies and give golf industry related opinions. We have owned CK Golf for 9 years and provide marketing, social media and business services to the golf and other industries. As of August 2016 our life and our business will be ‘location independent’. Our 19th Hole Blog is about the places we visit and the things we do. If you have any questions or comments, or happen to be in the same location as us please reach out and contact us anytime.
